Melbourne Festival and Art Trail 20th & 21st September 2025
I have been usy playing with mixed media, and immersing myself in the creative process of assembling unique pieces for the Melbourne Art Trail, which will take place on the 20th and 21st of September. This event promises to be an exciting showcase of artistic expression and collaboration, bringing together a diverse array of artists and their works.
The narrative outcomes of the makes produced during this time are particularly rewarding, as I look at folk-style stories and images that resonate with cultural heritage and communal experiences. Each piece tells a story, weaving together elements from various traditions and backgrounds, which adds a rich layer of meaning to the overall finished pieces. As I work with the materials—paints, textiles, found objects, and more—I find great joy in the process of bringing to life the people depicted in the work. Each character I create is inspired by the tales and legends that have been passed down through generations, reflecting the values, struggles, and triumphs of the communities they represent. The act of assembling these characters not only allows me to express my creativity but also serves as a bridge connecting the past with the present.
The Melbourne Art Trail will be a vibrant platform for dialogue and interaction, where visitors can engage with the art and the stories behind each piece. I look forward to sharing my work with the public and seeing how they react to the folk narratives that inspire my creations. This experience is not just about showcasing art; it is about fostering a deeper understanding of the stories that shape our identities and the collective memory of our societies.
I look forward to seeing you at Melbourne, I will be exhibiting at Crane and Walton (solicotors) on the High Street. The space is tucked away next to Birds cake shop with a little trip up some stairs to a lovely space. I will be exhibiting with two other talented artists -
