ABOUT

I have always been a keen artist, and practised art in my spare time between career and family - creating has been a way of life feeding my soul in a busy schedule.  I completed 2 years at college doing Fine Art in Staffordshire giving me a great foundation to apply to my art and creativity.

I took superannuation from the NHS which a

allowed me precious time to develop my art.

I feel my happiest with a range of mixed media techniques including textiles, which has been my newest focus and addition to my art.  I like to sketch, particularly with concertina sketchbooks, which gives me freedom and inspiration for art pieces and compositions.  Working in varied mixed media is a challenge and this year I will be trying some new techniques.

I have exhibited at 'The Harley Open' Gallery in Nottingham in 2020, Matlock Artists Society over the last 4 years, Bonsall Art Club for the last 3 years and at the Old Lock up Gallery in Cromford for the Secret Postcard Exhibition. I won 'Best mixed media prize' at Matlock Artists Exhibition for my mixed media collage 'Solar Flight'.

I have exhibited as part of a stitch collective called 'Untangled Threads' of Scarborough, exhibiting at Harrogate.

Earlier this year I exhibited a piece of textile art for 'Mothers Day' online Exhibition.  Being part of this collective gives me opportunity to exhibit my work.

I also have a sketchbook in the Brooklyn Art Library in New York.
